YOU WILL NEED:SLOPPY SAMAURI

  •          1 to 1 ½ pounds ground beef, ground chicken or ground pork
  •          4 brioche rolls or other rolls of choice
  •          ½ cup water
  •          ½ cup ketchup
  •          Oil for skillet – we like a light touch of sesame oil

Optional vegetables: 1 or 2 bell peppers, diced; 1 to 2 shredded carrots. Top with scallions or chives (optional)

 

YOU WILL NEED: CREAMY SLAW

  •          1 bag of cabbage
  •          ½ cup mayonnaise
  •          2 to 3 tablespoons water
  •          1 to 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar (optional)

 

DIRECTIONS

  1.      Remove clear package found inside your pouch and empty it into a medium sized bowl. Add water and apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar) for an extra tangy taste and stir your mixture together. Then add your mayonnaise and stir well. Add your bag of cabbage and coat your cabbage well. Refrigerate for an hour or when you are ready to serve your meal
  2.      In a medium sized skillet, heat your skillet to medium high. Coat with a little bit of oil of choice. Add optional vegetables and ground meat of choice. Using a fork or a spoon, break up your meat as it cooks (crumbling it) and allow your vegetables to soften. Add your ketchup and water and contents found directly inside your pouch to your skillet and toss to coat. Turn your skillet to simmer, add a lid and let your meal cook for 10 to 15 minutes until slightly bubbly. This will allow your flavors to mellow and combine.
  3.      Serve your sloppy meat mix inside your buns and top with your creamy slaw or serve your slaw on the side. We also love adding kimchi and even pickled ginger as part of this dish for an extra samurai kick!
