Sloppy Mac N Cheese Casserole

YOU WILL NEED: SLOPPY JOES LAYER

•          6 to 8 tablespoons (90mL) ketchup
•          2 pounds (904g) ground beef
•          ¼ cup water

YOU WILL NEED: MAC N CHEESE LAYER

•          1 to 1 ½ cups water

DIRECTIONS

1.       Preheat oven to 350F
2.       Remove two clear bags from your pouch and set aside
3.       SLOPPY JOES LAYER - In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté the beef with the contents of the large clear bag (removed in step 1) and the green peppers until it the meat is browned.
4.       Add the ketchup, starting with 6 tablespoons and the water and stir together until combined. Add more ketchup for saucier sloppy joes
5.       Empty contents of your sloppy layer into a medium casserole dish (about 10x10), set aside
6.      MAC N CHEESE LAYERIn a small stockpot, fill with water.  Lightly salt your water and place your pot onto your stovetop
7.      Bring your pot of salted water to a rolling bowl
8.      Empty contents of pouch (macaroni) into your boiling water and give it a good stir
9.      Boil your macaroni until it has reached your desired done-ness, about 9 minutes. Do Not over cook.
10.      Drain your macaroni and keep warm.
11.      In the same pot you used to boil your macaroni, add the contents of the small bag you set aside in step 1
12.      Pour your water (start with 1 cup) over your mixture and whisk quickly until your sauce is fully blended and smooth.  Add your pot to your warm burner along with your macaroni (drained) and give it all a good stir. Add more water as desired, using 1 tablespoon at a time until you reach desired saucy consistency
13.      Pour your mac n cheese mixture on top of your sloppy layer
14.      Add extra cheddar or favorite other cheese on top (optional) and bake for 20 minutes in preheated oven, until casserole is bubbly
15. Remove from oven, serve in bowls and enjoy!
