YOU WILL NEED

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef or steak, cut into thin strips or boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cubed)

  • 2 cups heavy cream or milk OR 1 ½ cups heavy cream or milk with 8oz cream cheese for a cheesier dish

Optional Philly cheesesteak lovin’ additions such as

  • Sauteed peppers and onions

  • Sauteed mushrooms

  • Extra cheese – provolone or mozzarella! … even American cheese!

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven 350F. Remove clear pouches found inside your bag and set aside.

  1. Grease a 9x13 baking dish with butter or olive oil

  1. Bring a large pot of water to boil, adding 1 teaspoon salt to water. Empty contents found directly inside your pouch (pasta) into your boiling pot of water

  1. Cook pasta for 9 minutes (until slightly under done) and drain pasta into a colander. Rinse pasta with COLD water immediately, set aside

  1. Cook and crumble beef or chicken in a large skillet over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Drain excess grease and pour your beef or chicken into a bowl

  1. Heat skillet once again to medium heat. Melt butter. Add contents of your medium unlabeled bag (sauce package) and still constantly for 10 seconds.  Pour milk/cream (and if opting for cream cheese variation, add your cream cheese, cut into cubes now too) over top of your mixture and stir constantly.  Bring mix to a low boil and reduce stovetop to simmer. Simmer for 10 minutes. Turn off stove and remove your sauce from the heat.

  1. Add drained pasta to the bowl with beef and combine. Pour sauce mixture over top.

  1. Add your optional cheesesteak additions now.  Stir into your casserole

  1. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until casserole is heated through

  1. Serve warm and enjoy
