This tasty onion soup uses four different onions. An easy way to get a simple dinner on the table in less than 30 minutes. Four onion soup is a perfect meal when served with a green salad and crusty loaf of bread. Serves 4 - 6
YOU WILL NEED
4 cups (1L) warm water
2 large onions, sliced or diced (super thin)
1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
Add onions to a medium saucepan along with 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
On medium heat, melt butter and add your onions. Sautee onions, stirring often until soft, about 15 minutes and slightly caramelized (brown)
Empty contents of your pouch into your saucepan. Pour warm water on top and stir well to dissolve your mixture
Turn stovetop up to medium-high heat. Bring mixture to a boil.
Boil for one minute. Stir the entire time.
Reduce temperature to a simmer and allow your soup to simmer for 25 to 30 minutes
Serve with hot crusty bread. Top with cheese if desired
