YOU WILL NEED - CAKE

  •          3 eggs (separated : 3 whites, 3 yolks); room temperature
  •          1/3 cup water
  •          1 cup milk
  •          ¼ cup soft butter

 

DIRECTIONS

  1.     Remove small clear bag found inside your pouch
  2.     Preheat oven to 325F (165C) and place rack in the center of the oven
  3.     Butter 6 one cup ramekins or one 8x8 or 9x9 square or round pan
  4.     Empty contents of the small bag (removed in step 1) into a bowl with your egg whites. With an electric mixer, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Set aside
  5.     In a separate clean bowl, add egg yolks and butter. Beat until fully incorporated. Add contents found directly inside your pouch into your bowl with the egg yolks and butter. With the mixer set to low speed, gradually pour in your water and milk and blend until incorporated
  6.     Gently fold the egg whites into the batter and mix just until incorporated (do not over mix)
  7.     Place your baking dish onto a sheet pan and pour enough water into your sheet pan so that the water is ¼ to ½ way up the sides of your baking dish
  8.     Bake your lava cake for 40 to 45 minutes or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
  9.     Cool for one minute and serve warm. Scoop out and enjoy the delicious lemon bottom lava cake!
