YOU WILL NEED – for the Rice Mixture

  •          2 ½ cups water

YOU WILL NEED – for the Black Beans

  •          4qt water

 

YOU WILL NEED – Fresh Stuff for the Bowl

  •          You can use any type of fresh stuff for your bowl, below are our favorite recommendations

o   1 cup cooked corn

o   2 cups favorite fresh or frozen vegetables (we love broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, snap peas, peppers, onions)

o   Other fresh toppings such as pineapple, mango, apples, raisins, cranberries

 

BONUS Seasoning Package Included: Our bonus seasoning package adds a sweet, savory and a little head! Use to flavor your vegetables, your beans and fresh foods or even any added protein you may decide to add

 

DIRECTIONS

  1.     Remove 2 bags from your pouch and set aside
  2.     Remove medium unlabeled bag and pour contents into a medium sized pot. Cover your black beans with water and fill your pot the remainder of the way with water. Bring water to a BOIL. Boil for 10 minutes, reduce heat to SIMMER for 45 minutes or until black beans are cooked and soft. Drain any remaining water.
  3.     In a medium sized pot, add 2 1/2 cups water. Pour contents found directly inside your pouch (grains mix) into your pot and stir well
  4.     Bring pot to a rolling boil, turn off your heat. Add lid to your pot and let rest or 20 minutes. Once cooked through, fluff with a fork.
  5.     While your grains are cooking, cook your favorite fresh additions by adding one to two tablespoons vegetable oil or other favorite oil to your skillet.  Add your fresh or frozen vegetables of choice.  Sauté your fresh additions for 8 to 10 minutes on medium heat.  Season with your bonus seasoning blend (optional) in small unlabeled bag to taste preferences.  Start with ½ the contents and add more to your taste preferences
  6.     Serve your meal in bowls. Add ½ cup cooked grains, ¼ cup black beans,1 cup fresh additions. These bowls are delicious with fresh or canned pineapple, mango and even peaches
