Tastes just like the Family Donut Shop around the corner. This heartwarming, Baked Apple Cider Donut, spiked with cinnamon and fall spices will fill your home with memorable aromas. YOU WILL NEED

  •          ½ cup (120mL) apple cider
  •          ¼ cup (60mL) milk
  •          2 large eggs, slightly beaten
  •          1 tablespoon (15mL) butter, melted – for the doughnut
  •          3 tablespoons (45mL) butter, melted  - for the topping

DIRECTIONS

  1.       Preheat oven to 325°F (165 °C). Lightly grease a doughnut pan.
  2.       In a large bowl combine the contents of the large bag with wet cake ingredients. Mix until it is completely combined.
  3.       Fill each donut cup 3/4 full.  Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the donuts spring back when touched. Allow to cool slightly before removing from pan.
  4.       To coat, place the melted butter in a shallow bowl.  Place the contents of the small bag (topping) on a plate. Brush each doughnut with the melted butter then toss in the topping mixture until evenly coated.

 

Got Leftovers? Stale donuts are delicious toasted with cream cheese! Slice, toast, spread on a tablespoon of cream cheese and enjoy
